MO Ethical eats from bacon to beets
The Moral Omnivore is committed to serving you sustainably produced, eclectic food while giving back to our community.
Although "moral" is often subjectively understood, The Moral Omnivore is so named to let our community know that we are a business committed to running as ethically as we know how.
All our meat comes from local farms (Ridgeroll), all our produce is picked up at local markets each week, and we look for ways to reduce our carbon footprint.
We are working on switching to biodiesel, use 100% compostable to-go ware, sell local sodas and buy fair trade & organic when local isn't possible. Additionally, every week MO hosts a weekly Eat With Your Heart Out Day, when 10% of proceeds are donated to a Minnesota charity!
"Like" MO on Facebook, or follow MO on twitter to find out where we are each day. If you have an event, be sure to check out MO's catering!
If you are a charity interested in being a part of our Eat with Your Heart Out Days, please contact us!
Ross is a philosophy major from Metropolitan State University. He worked hard for over a year to develop the menu for MO while working as the General Manager for a restaurant in Minnetonka. It has taken true dedication!
In his spare time, Ross loves to watch food science lectures, attend bar trivia, explore our country's restaurants, and spend time outdoors with his wife Linnea.
Ross' passion lies in food, food science, and cooking for others. He has a true talent for spices, and his love of food is apparent in every dish he serves!
Linnea is a philosophy graduate from St. Olaf college and is currently attending Adler Graduate School for her Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy.
In her spare time, Linnea loves composing music, writing The Moral Omnivore blog, and hiking our country's National Parks with her husband Ross.
Linnea is passionate about giving back to her community, and has found MO the perfect opportunity to do this because, "Everybody eats. To change the way we eat, is to change the world!"
Cassian was an Economics major in Tanzania, and is THE Moral Support on MO. He is the only employee, and can be found on the truck or in the kitchen whenever MO is in operation. Cassian met Linnea & Ross when they visited Tanzania several years ago. Through a series of strange and incredibly fortunate events, Cassian met back up with Linnea & Ross at a point when he needed a job and Linnea & Ross needed help!
Cassian firmly believes life is what he makes it, and he strives to be a positive force in both his Mn and Tanzanian community. In his spare time, Cassian loves to read, spend time with good people, and plan his next business venture. Bringing joy to anyone who sees him, Cassian can frequently be found dancing to his own African drum.
